(© Kjerand Nesvik) | Dancer and choreographer Desmond Richardson and actress and director Liv Ullmann will be honored at the YoungArts Gala at the Gusman Center in Miami, Florida on January 16.
Richardson will perform at the gala. Both artists will also serve as Master Teachers in Dance and Theater during YoungArts Week, January 12-16.
Richardson will receive the YoungArts Alumni Award, which honors a former student who has achieved significant professional success in his or her chosen art form, and carries a $5,000 stipend to a charity chosen by the recipient. Ullmann will accept the Arison Award, given annually to an individual who has had a significant influence on the development of young American artists. The honor carries a $10,000 donation to an arts organization or charity chosen by the recipient.
