Three-time Oscar nominee Annette Bening will play Mary Welsh Hemingway in Andy Garcia's film Hemingway and Fuentes, according to Variety.
The paper reports that Sir Anthony Hopkins will play Hemingway and Garcia will play his best friend, Gregorio Fuentes. Mary Welsh Hemingway was the author's third wife.
Bening's stage credits include the Broadway production of Coastal Disturbances, for which she received a Tony nomination, as well as Medea and Hedda Gabler. She is set to star in Randall Arney's production of Joanna Murray-Smith's The Female of the Species at the Geffen Playhouse in 2010.
